You waited.
And waited.
You waited for them to talk to you with words coated with kindness.
You waited for them to say words which would melt in your ears like honey.
You waited for them to look at you and see you.
You waited for them to hold you like they wanted to protect you.
You waited.
And waited.
And you got tired of waiting.
You wrote the words down yourself,
And this made you smile.
After an eternity,
They came back.
They said the words.
And they were just words,
Lacking in honey.
When they said the words,
You felt nothing.
You had already said the words to yourself,
And you were content.
